Citizenship Municipality
The ‘Citizenship Municipality’ project is in partnership with the
National Endowment for Democracy (NED).
As part of the «Citizenship Municipality ” project, OVC will engage with
locally elected municipalities and help them develop policies that
respond to the needs of local communities while integrating the
principles of participatory governance, accountability and
transparency. OVC will organize three intensive capacity building
trainings for 20 elected municipal representatives from 9 different
municipalities
A second component of the OVC project will focus on citizen
participation in local democracy and more specifically in the Annual
Investment Plan (PAI). OVC will conduct online and offline campaigns
including the production of animated video content, the use of social
media, advocacy campaigns to encourage local citizens and civil
society to participate in the AIP process in the targeted municipalities.
OVC will engage 20 young people active in local civil society
organizations in the 5 targeted governorates and train them in
advocacy and awareness raising techniques as well as local
governance.
