WITH MY HANDS I SEIZE MY FREEDOM
“With My Hands I seize My Freedom” is an eco-social initiative. We focused in the first stage of the project on rural women in the region of Gabes. On the occasion of the International Day of Rural Women, the OVC organized the Workshop “With my hand, I seize my freedom,” to enhance women entrepreneurship with an environmental approach, where we recruited 10 rural women to be trained on how to make crafts products from palm leaves.
With a team work of about 15 volunteer and 2 trainers, the OVC succeeded in holding two training sessions for 10 rural women. The workshop witnessed the participation of the Director of the Youth House Chatt El Salem. Local and national media covered the trainings and helped promote the event. The OVC was invited to talk on local radio Oasis FM and Chams FM. In addition, an article about the initiative was published in Tunisio magazine to reach the national audience. This project paved the way for rural women to be self-confident to start up or continue their craft business.
